WHY YOU HAVE A MENSTRUAL CYCLE TWICE A MONTH ?

Although if being on your periods isn’t a lovely experience, having a regular menstrual cycle is a sign of excellent health. In fact, you should be more bothered when you have irregular periods. This is why it is vitally crucial for you to chart your periods every month. You must make sure that your periods are regular and that you bleed normally up until the end of your cycle. Inconsistency in the menstrual cycle can result in either an excessively long or short interval between consecutive periods. If you encounter bleeding twice in one month, you need to be on the lookout.

Bleeding can happen at any time, and it can be light or severe. While the occasional spotting is not harmful, it is crucial to see a doctor if it persists or if the bleeding is severe. Also, if you encounter any form of pain or discomfort, it’s crucial to get medical treatment immediately. This is because irregular periods and bleeding might develop owing to an underlying health issue. Here are some of these health issues that you need to know about.

PID – Pelvic Inflammatory Disease

You can get PID, an infection that harms your reproductive system. It typically happens when an STD spreads from the vagina to the uterus, ovaries, or fallopian tubes. One of the signs of PID is irregular menstrual bleeding. Pelvic pain and difficulty getting pregnant after repeated attempts are some of the other symptoms. In addition, you can have pain during sex and smelly vaginal discharge. See a doctor right away if you believe that your irregular vaginal bleeding is accompanied by these symptoms.

Menopause

Menopause is the end of your menstruation on a permanent note. It is established when you don’t experience menstruation at a stretch for 12 months. Menopause occurs to women mainly in their late 40s or 50s and as menopause gets near, you will suffer irregular periods. You might either skip your period or have shorter periods that will result in menstruation twice in a month. Additional symptoms include dryness down there, hot flashes, chills, loss of breast fullness, mood swings, dry skin and thinning hair.

Uterine Fibroids

Non-cancerous growths called uterine fibroids are present in the uterus. They are mostly present in women who are actively trying for children. You may experience bleeding between your usual periods for a variety of reasons, including uterine fibroids. They can also induce severe bleeding during menstruation and prolong the duration of their periods. Additional symptoms include pelvic pressure or pain, constipation, weight gain, frequent urination, trouble in peeing, and backache.

Many of these are plausible reasons why you may have irregular periods or bleeding when you’re not on periods. Thus, it’s crucial that you visit a doctor before you make any assumptions based on your own understanding. Additionally, an early period might occur as a one-time phenomenon for many women. In this instance, it isn’t anything you need worry too much about. We wish you a healthy and pleasant period, ladies!
